I have received the offer from one company to sell 7-zip.org domain and 7-Zip name. They also suggest me to keep developing of 7-Zip as open-source program and they will support and promote 7-Zip. That company is not big as I understand.

They say that they don’t plan to include banners / adware / spyware to program. But they can make some additional Pro version or something like that to make money. 7-Zip is under GNU LGPL, so they can't just close open-source 7-Zip project after buying. As I understand in worst case (if further open-source development under name "7-Zip" will be not possible), developers can use some other name and site.

What do you think about that offer?

Do you know any good or bad stories about similar sales in open-source world?

7-zip.org site now has about 600K unique visitors per month. And there are about 30K downloads of 7-Zip program per day from main site / sourceforge. Is there a way to estimate possible value/price of domain, and program's brand name in that case?

I don't say that it's 100% that I'll sell 7-Zip. I just need your opinions about that offer.
